Dear Brother Howard, Hi
You reply: It is true that Muslims, Jews, and Christians believe in the same God, but it is absured to conclude form this that the Pope is a Muslim, or that he believes in the Quran. The quote from the Second Vatican council explicitly says that Muslims fail to believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ, which along with the Blessed Trinity is the central belief of the Christian faith. See also Pope John Paul II's chapter on Islam in his book, Crossing the Threshold of Hope.
I respond: The Pope as you do, state that Muslims Worship the Same God as the Jews and Christians.
The Pope as you do, Know that Muslims Follow the Teachings in the Qur'an. If the Pope is going to make a Public Documented Statement that Muslims follow the Same God, then I'm sure he has done research and verified that the Qur'an is from the God of Abraham and Moses and all the Prophets, the Same God of the Heavens and the Earth.
If the Qur'an was false and taught of a false god, then the Pope would not make a Public Statement that the Muslims worship the Same God.
I am not saying the Pope is a Muslim, I am saying that from Pope's statement, the Pope is confirming the Validity of the Qur'an, the Muslim's Book, that it is from the Same God as the Pope states "Muslims worship the Same God".

You responded;
Thank you for this kind word about the Catholic Church. I don't know if you know that we Catholics believe that Jesus is present in our Chrurches in a special way in the Blessed Sacrament, which is usually reserved in a tabernacle, near a lit flame.
Mohamed:
Your welcome, that is amazing, 'Jesus in the Catholic church in a special way', When speaking to Christians about Removing their shoes when entering into a church, they respond that a church is just a building, nothing special about it, no one honorable inside.
What is the Catholic excuse for not following Scripture about removing the shoes when entering the holy church.

Catholics adore God alone. However just as all Christians ask their friends to pray to God for them, Catholics and Eastern Orthodox ask our best friends and God's best friends--the Saints who are in heaven--to pray to God for us. We don't pray to statues: we ask the prayers of the Saints whom the statues represent.
Mohamed:
Wow, I do not mean to rebute this, I would just like us to reach the bare logical facts. 1) Does God have friends?, 2)What if the statue breaks, is it simply replaced or are some statues of saints unreplaceable, and 3) do people in the Catholic community who's physical features are similar to certain saints, do those individuals recieve preferencial treatment (i.e. Predjudism).

Iconocolasm, the heresy you are echoing, was refuted by the council of Nicaea in 787.
Mohamed:
Almost 800 years it was practiced and then it was decided no longer to be practiced? Do people who concider themselves to be Catholic still practice it, the church where I was told was well established, is it a different Sect of Catholics that do not practice the same form of worship as your sect does?

since you admirably say that you want to know the truth about what the Church teaches, and not a misconception (which it is easy for us to have about each other's religions), you may want to refr to the recently published and easily available Catechism of the Catholic Church for authoritative statements about what Catholics believe about the Blessed Trinity; Jesus Christ, who is true God and true Man; the saints; statues and icons; and the Blessed Sacrament.
Mohamed:
Yes, Truth is admirable, thank you, now you say Jesus is Man and God, this has been a Catholic belief for a while, can it too be changed by another Nicaea meeting, what do you think Christian scholars would vote if asked of the divinity of Jesus:
In the British newspaper the "Daily News" 25/6/84 under the heading "Shock survey of Anglican Bishops" We read
"More than half of England's Anglican Bishops say that Christians are not obliged to believe that Jesus Christ was God, according to a survey published today. The pole of 31 of England's 39 bishops shows that many of them think that Christ's miracles, the virgin birth and the resurrection might not have happened exactly as described in the Bible. Only 11 of the bishops insisted that Christians must regard Christ as both God and man, while 19 said it was sufficient to regard Jesus as 'God's supreme agent'"
May be they, brother Howard, should re-vote?
Peace and Blessings,
Your brother in Islam: Mohamed
