Dear Mike,

Coy?...I see you have completely misunderstood my point :-( , I just hope it was unintentional.

What I meant was that, that "passionate attachment" you mentioned (and is very true)that led you to this "effort at discourse" that was for the right reasons (which is seeking the truth), turned into what is akin to a personal vendetta, with neither of you really gaining anything but apparent animosity. how can you say to a person "you have no reason to be in "this or that" religion" when you, your self havent ventured enough in it to form your own opinion of it (your own, not some other person's opinion or arguments, you could go for those once you've formed your own)- (furthermore, animosity is the natural out come of such a statement).

Its like, you can't give a drug prescription to someone with out being a doctor first, or at least reading enough about the drugs you're going to give out. Read for your self, AND THEN come and argue what you dont see right, if not to clarify, then to find the truth.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to convey to you and to everybody...this is not something personal I hope you see that.

As to "the burden of proof", well..you tell me where its going.

Further more, I think your computer is screwed up or something, lately most of your postes arent complete, like for example this one stopped with what you can see below.

May we be guided "unto all truth",
RYA

: Hello,
: RYA… ...almost every issue that has been brought up, ultimately
: ends up no where, every one wants his/her religious group to be right,
: that of course is at the beginning,

: Mike: For you to say that "every one wants his/her religious group to be right ultimately ends up no where" is to lay judge on those efforts. Do not try and be coy and please spell out what you would call an effort at discourse that ends up getting nowhere.

: Are you saying this effort "The burden of Proof" has gotten nowhere?

: RYA: then it becomes personal,

: Mike: because so much is at stake. We all hold a passionate attachment to what we believe to be true.

: RYA ...where everyone wants to be right period!.

: Mike: As oppose to being wrong-yes.

: RYA: You forget the whole aim of debate! To seek the truth.

: Mike: that which is the truth will be right-right. So therefore in order to be true it must be established which position is right-right. Debating others is a means of achieving that goal.

: RYA: You keep
