In 1992 the Finance Committee of the Muslim Parliament in the UK drew up a set of objectives which included the following:
To research and write critiques of Western philosophy, culture, political systems and civilisation (i.e. to 'rewrite history' from an Islamic viewpoint).
To present the Muslim lifestyle as moral and materially successful (in contrast with the declining standards of the West).
To assist Western converts to Islam by providing funds for their resettlement and marriage if necessary.
To train Muslim students for mission in universities and colleges.
To invest in training and literature. Good quality literature including translations of the Qur'an, apologetics, and testimonies of converts is often distributed free of charge.
