I was told that the apostle of Allah said, as he was talking about Zayd son of 'Amr son of Nufayl, 'He was the first to upbraid me for idolatry and forbade me to worship idols. I had come from al-Ta'if along with Zayd son of Haritha when we passed Zayd son of 'Amr who was in the highland of Mecca. Quraysh had made a public example of him for abandoning his religion, so that he went out from their midst. I sat down with him. I had a bag containing meat which we had sacrificed to our idols -- Zayd b. Haritha was carrying it -- and I offered it to Zayd b. 'Amir -- I was but a lad at the time -- and I said, "Eat some of this food, my uncle." He replied, "Surely it is part of those sacrifices of theirs which they offer to their idols?" When I said that it was, he said, "Nephew mine, if you were to ask the daughters of 'Abd al-Muttalib they would tell you that I never eat of these sacrifices, and I have no desire to do so." Then he upbraided me for idolatry and spoke disparagingly of those who worship idols and sacrifice to them, and said, "They are worthless: they can neither harm nor profit anyone," or words to that effect.' The apostle added, 'After that I never knowingly stroked one of their idols nor did I sacrifice to them until God honoured me with his apostleship. (A. Guillaume, Islam, pp. 26-27, emphasis mine)
Muhammad's sins
[Muhammad 47:19] So know (O Muhammad) that there is no God save Allah,
and ask forgiveness for thy sin and for believing men and believing women.
Allah knoweth (both) your place of turmoil and your place of rest.
[al-Fath 48:2] That Allah may forgive thee of thy sin that which is past and that which is to come, and may perfect His favour unto thee, and may guide thee on a right path,
Treaty of Hudayba
Muhammad failed in his earlier attempt to go to Mecca. This failure resulted in the Treaty of Hudaybiyya. He returned humiliated in the eyes of the Meccans and in the minds of his people. To reverse their defeated spirit, Muhammad told his followers that the events at Hudaybiyya were really a victory. In fact, another convenient "revelation" was given to Muhammad as proof that it really was a victory (Sura 48:1). However, Allah was not able to deliver the Meccan's goods as booty, so Muhammad told his followers that they were going to attack and plunder the weaker Jewish settlement of Khaibar.
Beautiful Hooris
[ad-Dukhan 44:54] Thus will it be. And WE shall give them as companions fair maidens, having large, black eyes.
[at-Tur 52:20] On that day they will be reclining on couches arranged in rows. And WE shall give them as companions fair maidens, having wide, beautiful eyes.
[ar-Rahman 55:72] Fair maidens with lovely black eyes, guarded in pavilions -
[al-Waqi`ah 56:22] And there will be fair maidens with wide, lovely eyes,
Allowed into heaven,
(chaste) private parts and tongues
Narrated Sahl bin Sa'd:
The Prophet said, "Whoever guarantees me (the chastity of) what is
between his legs (i.e. his private parts), and what is between his jaws
(i.e., his tongue), I guarantee him Paradise." (Sahih Bukhari 8.799)
Muhammad And Kinana B. Al-Rabi`
When Muhammad started out on his mission, he proclaimed that he was
only a "Warner" for the people. As Sura 88:21 says:
Therefore give warning, your duty is only to give warning:
you are not their keeper.
At this time in Muhammad's mission his followers were few and weak
in strength. They were disliked, and Muhammad was mocked and persecuted.
He proclaimed that Allah had told him that he was only a Warner to the
people.
However, years later, Muhammad and his following had grown in strength.
He led a strong, dedicated army. Muhammad had a degree of power. Now the
rules of his game had changed. When he was weak he only implored the Meccans
to turn from paganism and worship only Allah. Now, having a degree of military
strength, he was bearing the sword of Islam.

The oldest still available biography of Muhammad is called the "Sirat
Rasulallah", or "Life of the Prophet of Allah". This book was written by
Ibn Ishaq, and later rescinded by Ibn Hisham. It was written a century
before any of the major works of Hadith. It is considered the most authentic
biography of Muhammad.
On page 515, the Sirat tells of an event in Muhammad's later years. This event occurred about three years before Muhammad's death, due to poisoning. This specific narrative tells of Muhammad's conquest of Khaibar. Khaibar was a large Jewish settlement. The Jews there were merchants, craftsmen, and farmers. Khaibar was known to have some of the best date palms in the region. The Jews there were well to do because they had earned it.
Muhammad had just been rejected by the Meccans from performing a pilgrimage.
He also signed a humiliating treaty with the Meccans, a treaty that a number
of his followers didn't like. To placate them, Muhammad marched on Khaibar,
with the intent to plunder the Jews.
Kinana b. al-Rabi`, who had the custody of the treasure of B. al-Nadir,
was brought to the apostle who asked him about it. He denied that he knew
where it was. A Jew came (T. was brought) to the apostle and said that
he had seen Kinana going round a certain ruin every morning early. When
the apostle said to Kinana, "Do you know that if we find you have it I
shall kill you?" he said "Yes". The apostle gave orders that the ruin was
to be excavated and some of the treasure was found. When he asked him about
the rest he refused to produce it, so the apostle gave orders to al-Zubayr
b. `Al-Awwam, "Torture him until you extract what he has," so he kindled
a fire with flint and steel on his chest until he was nearly dead. Then
the apostle delivered him to Muhammad b. Maslama and he struck off his
head, in revenge for his brother Mahmud.[1]
What do we see here? What kind of a man is the prophet of Islam? Examine
what Muhammad said "Torture him until you extract what he has". This is
the prophet of Islam in action when he eventually had the power of the
sword.
Can we really say with good conscience that Muhammad is to be followed as the model for mankind? Was this torture necessary and good? Is this how a true prophet of God would act?
If God wanted to show Muhammad the treasure and if the Muslims were supposed to have it, why did he not show it to him through Gabriel? Maybe there was no treasure and the Jews were not as rich as Muhammad thought or Kinana really didn't know where it was? Is torture legitimate for the purpose of enriching yourself with the wealth of others?
These are some questions that need to be answered when we evaluate Muhammad's
life to determine whether he was a true prophet.

Muslims complain about what the Serbs have done to the Muslims in Bosnia,
and I agree with the Muslims. But, if anyone were to study the history
of Muhammad, they would see that Muhammad also did some brutal things to
people. Today's Muslims feel they have the right to complain about Bosnia,
and they are right. But would they likewise condemn the actions of Muhammad
in dealing with Kinana?
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, #234
Narrated Abu Qilaba:
Anas said, "Some people of 'Ukl or 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and
its climate did not suit them. So the Prophet ordered them to go to the
herd of (Milch) camels and to drink their milk and urine (as a medicine).
So they went as directed and after they became healthy, they killed the
shepherd of the Prophet and drove away all the camels. The news reached
the Prophet early in the morning and he sent (men) in their pursuit and
they were captured and brought at noon. He then ordered to cut their hands
and feet (and it was done), and their eyes were branded with heated pieces
of iron. They were put in 'Al-Harra' and when they asked for water, no
water was given to them." Abu Qilaba said, "Those people committed theft
and murder, became infidels after embracing Islam and fought against Allah
and His Apostle."
Suckling the Breast to make lawful
Narrated Aisha:
It had been revealed in the Qur'an that ten clear sucklings make the
marriage unlawful, then it was abrogated (and substituted) by five sucklings
and Allah's Apostle (peace_be_upon_him) died and it was before that time
(found) in the Qur'an (and recited by the Muslims). (Sahih Muslim 8.3421)
recited before `Uthman's collection
Aisha reported, 'In what was revealed, ten attested sucklings were
required to established the ban. The ten were later replaced by five. The
Prophet died and the five were still being recited in the Qur'an.' She
used to say, 'The Qur'an was revealed with ten attested sucklings setting
up the bar. These later became five.' No man ever called upon her who had
not completed a course of five sucklings.

to Abu Wail, "I wish he (Abu Musa) didn't (lay great stress on that matter)."
Hudhaifa added, "Allah's Apostle went to the dumps of some people and urinated
while standing."
